Short description

Most students believe that the Moon has a circular orbit, moving in a constant distance from the Earth. By studying the time durations of laser pulses emitted by Earth and reflected to the Moon by mirrors installed by space missions, they will calculate the Earth-Moon distance. Students will map the Moon’s orbit around the Earth and they will plot its distance from Earth revealing the complexity of its trajectory.
